Overview

The ABB Copper One-Hole Lug, identified by SKU 58168, represents a robust and reliable electrical termination solution engineered for demanding industrial and utility applications. This lug is specifically designed for high-conductivity copper conductors, ensuring efficient electrical performance. It is intended for use with stranded copper conductors, accommodating a wire size of 250 kcmil, with a designation for flexible wire types. The lug features a standard barrel construction, which is a common and effective design for electrical terminations. A key feature of this lug is the inclusion of a peep hole, also known as an inspection window. This peep hole is crucial for verifying full conductor insertion into the barrel, which is a critical step for ensuring a secure and reliable crimp connection. The lug is rated for a maximum operating voltage of 35kV, making it suitable for high-voltage applications. The tin-plated finish is applied to the copper lug, providing enhanced protection against corrosion. This tin plating is essential for extending the service life of the termination, particularly in environments that are prone to corrosive elements, such as marine, chemical processing, or outdoor installations. The lug is designed with a 1/2-inch bolt size, which dictates the size of the hardware used to secure the connection. For proper installation and crimping, this lug utilizes Die Code 66, and it is identified by a white die color code. This specific die code and color code are important for ensuring compatibility with the correct crimping tools and dies, which are necessary to achieve a permanent and electrically sound connection. The design and specifications of this lug are optimized for use with Panduit and specified competitor crimping tools, indicating its integration into established industry practices and toolsets. The intended applications for this lug include power distribution networks, substation construction and maintenance, and renewable energy systems, where the integrity and longevity of electrical connections are paramount.
  • UL Listed and CSA Certified for 35kV applications with 90°C temperature rating
  • Tin-plated copper construction for superior corrosion resistance in harsh environments
  • Inspection window ensures full conductor insertion for reliable crimp performance
  • Compatible with Panduit and specified competitor crimping tools (Die Code 66, White)
  • Designed for stranded copper conductors up to 250 kcmil (flexible)
