How to Install the 54875LR34 Ground Grid Connector

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the 54875LR34 Ground Grid Connector on ground rods.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Wire brush, Hydraulic tool, Knurling tool (optional)

Supplies needed:

Ground rods, Ground grid connectors, Cable

  1. Prepare the cable

Clean the cable of all visible dirt using a rough cloth or brush. Ensure the cable has a bright copper finish by wire brushing or a similar process.

  2. Attach the connector

Insert the cable end into the ground grid connector, ensuring that it protrudes at least 3/4” beyond the connector.

  3. Crimp the connector

Use the hydraulic tool (model 13100A, TBM14CR-LI, TBM14M, TBM15CR-LI, TBM15, or TBM15I) to crimp the connector securely onto the cable. Ensure that you perform two crimps as required.

  4. Optional knurling

If using smooth ground rods, apply the knurling tool (model 240-31565-94) to enhance grip before attaching the connector.
