54224 connector, Cable, Insulation materials (adhesive pad or shrink tubing)
- Prepare the cable
Strip the insulation from the cable to the specified length in the installation table. Avoid nicking the cable strands to prevent breakage.
- Insert the cable into the connector
Clean the cable end with a wire brush, then insert it into the 54224 connector until it stops. Use the inspection peep hole to confirm that the cable is fully inserted.
- Crimp the connector
Place the connector in the crimping tool and compress it according to the markings, starting near the tongue of the connector. Refer to the installation table for the required number of compressions.
- Remove sharp edges
After crimping, carefully remove any sharp edges, flash, or burrs from the connector to ensure safety and proper installation.
- Insulate the connection
Apply insulation to the crimped area using either an adhesive pad or shrink tubing as specified in the installation table.
