How to Install the 54130SP Lug
Instructions for installing and crimping 54130SP lugs onto electrical cables.

Tools needed:
Wire strippers, Wire brush, Crimping tool (die and handle/hydraulic/battery operated), Utility knife (for removing burrs)
Supplies needed:
Insulation tubing, Adhesive pad
- Prepare the Cable
Strip the insulation from the cable to the length specified in the product's documentation. Ensure the cable strands are not nicked during this process.
- Insert Cable into Connector
Clean the cable end with a wire brush. Insert the cable into the lug connector until it reaches the end. Visually confirm full insertion through the inspection peep hole.
- Crimp the Lug
Insert the connector into the appropriate die on your crimping tool. Compress the connector between the specified markings, starting near the tongue. Refer to the product's documentation for the correct installing die and the required number of compressions for your specific lug and cable size.
- Finish and Insulate
After crimping, remove any sharp edges, flash, or burrs from the lug. Insulate the connection using the method specified in the product's documentation, such as shrink tubing or an adhesive pad.
