Torque Wrench, Screwdrivers, Wire Strippers, Ohmmeter, Allen Wrench 3/16"
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Cable gland, Glide washer, Bushing, Liner, Collar nut
- Turn off power
Ensure that the power supply to the installation area is turned OFF to prevent electrical shock.
- Prepare the cable
Strip the cable jacket 1-2 inches and each conductor 1/2 inch to prepare for connection.
- Assemble the plug components
Disassemble the device by removing the gland nut, glide washer, bushing, liner, collar nut, and interior from the housing. Then, slide the gland nut, glide washer, bushing, liner, and collar nut over the supply cable.
- Connect the conductors
Insert the stripped ends of each conductor into the appropriate pins or sleeves according to the established wiring pattern. Tighten the pressure screws to 20 in-lbs of torque.
- Reassemble the plug
Reassemble the interior into the housing, ensuring it seats flat against the inner ring. Slide the liner down the cable until it is flush with the back end of the housing.
- Secure the components
Position the bushing into the liner with the conical face down, and secure it with the gland nut. Tighten the gland nut to a maximum of 40 inch-pounds.
- Perform electrical tests
Use an ohmmeter to check continuity and verify correct phasing and grounding connections. Ensure there are no short circuits or unwanted grounds before connecting to power.
- Connect power and test
Once all checks are complete, connect the power supply and test the system to ensure proper functionality.
