How to Install the 2CKPM-G Controller
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the 2CKPM-G Controller, including mounting, wiring, and initial setup.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Drill, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Wasp guards, Adapters
- Turn off power
Ensure safety by turning off the power supply to the installation area before starting the installation.
- Install wasp guards
Remove the protective backing from the adhesive side of the rubber wasp guards. Position and place the adhesive side on the outside of the curved rib in the port opening. Carefully fold the wasp guard along the top surface and secure it to the inside of the curved rib in the port. Repeat for the second wasp guard.
- Determine desired adapter
Select the appropriate adapter based on your needs: for a switch, use the round/switch adapter; for a round receptacle, use the round 1-3/8" adapter and remove the inner circle; for a GFCI, no adapter is needed; for a duplex, use the duplex adapter.
- Install base to box
Attach the base to the electrical box using the receptacle screws. Ensure the base is positioned with the cover hinge on top and the open ports on the bottom. Insert the receptacle screws loosely into the box until the heads extend 5/8" from the receptacle strap faces. Push the adapter pins into the receptacles or switches, then place the base keyholes over the receptacle or switch screws. Ensure the gasket overlaps the box edges and tighten the screws to secure the base.
- Install cover
Align the cover with the base so that the top hinge holes are aligned. Push the hinge pin through the cover and base hinge holes until the stainless steel hinge pin is fully seated and securely in place.
- Seal irregular surfaces
If installing on an irregular surface such as brick or wood siding, use caulk or sealant around the base to prevent water entry.
- Turn on power
After completing the installation, restore power to the installation area and verify that the controller is functioning correctly.
