Overview

The ABB ALUMA-SHIELD Aluminum Joint Compound (SKU: 21059) is engineered for reliable aluminum cable connections. This compound is crucial for applications where conduit is threaded in the field, requiring an approved electrically conductive, corrosion-resistant coating on all threads. Its extremely adhesive formula flows smoothly into uneven contours and voids, ensuring complete, positive protection and lubrication for electrical connections. The ALUMA-SHIELD compound is designed to resist settling, thinning, thickening, hardening, or drying out, even under severe environmental conditions. It exhibits excellent temperature characteristics, capable of being brushed on between -50° F and 250° F (-45° C to 121° C). Remarkably, it remains intact for short periods at temperatures as high as 1,800° F (982° C). This homogenized blend of pure, polished colloidal copper and rust/corrosion inhibitors helps ensure low electrical resistance and effectively seals out air and moisture. Packaged in a convenient pint squeeze bottle, it facilitates easy application for professionals. This product is not recommended for food or beverage processing applications.
