VEM4

The ABB VEM4 electrical interlock set is designed to enhance safety and ensure proper sequential operation in motor control applications by preventing simultaneous energization of two contactors.

The VE4 block features two built-in Normally Closed (N.C.) interlocking contacts.

For correct electrical interlocking, the VE4 block must be installed with an A2-A2 connection, adhering strictly to the electrical connection diagram.

The VE4 block is rated for an insulation voltage (Ui) of 690 V according to IEC 60947-5-1.

The conventional thermal current (Ith) for the VE4 block is 16 A at temperatures up to 40 °C.

The mechanical durability of the VE4 block is rated for 5 million operating cycles.

The VE4 block can connect rigid solid/stranded conductors from 1 or 2 x 1...2.5 mm², and flexible conductors with ferrules from 1 or 2 x 0.75...2.5 mm².

The VEM4 is compatible with standard ABB AF contactors. For AF..Z series contactors with 12-20 V DC or 20-24 V DC coils, a side-mounted VM4 mechanical interlock unit should be used instead.
