ABB - Electrification SPUV024ACR - The undervoltage release is an electronic module used to open the circuit breaker when the monitored voltage drops below 35-60PERC of its rated value. The undervoltage release "resets" when the monitored voltage is re-established allowing the circuit breaker to reclose (the sealing voltage of the UVR is 60-85PERC of its rated voltage). An undervoltage release trip operation is produced by the MicroVersaTrip½ Plus unit in response to a signal from the undervoltage release module. This allows the trip unit to record, display, distinguish an d comm un icate (in MicroVer saTri p½ PM trip units) that the breaker opening event was due to undervoltage release. Operation of the undervoltage release module will prevent breaker contact closure, i.e. "kiss-free" operation. When energized, the undervoltage release supplies +24 Vdc power to the trip unit to power the display. Field installable. 4ACR Amps 225 A

Overview

The ABB SPUV024ACR is a field-installable electronic undervoltage release (UVR) module designed for ABB circuit breakers, specifically compatible with MicroVersaTrip Plus and PM trip units. This module provides essential protection by automatically opening the circuit breaker when the monitored voltage drops to between 35% and 60% of its rated value, preventing equipment damage from sustained low voltage. The UVR module ensures 'kiss-free' operation, preventing breaker contact closure during undervoltage conditions to safeguard contacts. Reset occurs when monitored voltage is re-established to 60-85% of its rated value (sealing voltage), allowing the circuit breaker to be reclosed. Integration with MicroVersaTrip Plus and PM trip units allows for recording, display, and communication of undervoltage release events. When energized, the SPUV024ACR supplies +24 Vdc power to the trip unit, enabling its display. This module is rated for 4ACR Amps up to 225 A and is manufactured in the US. It is a direct replacement or upgrade for undervoltage releases requiring 24V AC/DC operation, such as the ABB S800-UVR36 series, offering enhanced integration with modern trip units. Applications include industrial power distribution, motor control circuits, and any system where protection against voltage sags is critical.
  • Automatically opens circuit breaker when monitored voltage drops to 35-60% of rated value.
  • Prevents breaker closure ('kiss-free' operation) during undervoltage conditions.
  • Resets when voltage is re-established (60-85% of rated value).
  • Integrates with MicroVersaTrip Plus/PM trip units for event logging and communication.
  • Supplies +24 Vdc power to trip unit for display functionality.
  • Field installable module for ABB circuit breakers.
  • Rated for 4ACR Amps up to 225 A.
  • Compatible with 24V AC/DC systems, similar to S800-UVR36.
