Overview

The ABB EPD24-TB-101-12A is an electronic protection device designed for selective protection of 24 V DC load circuits, specifically for use on the load side of switch mode power supplies. This unit provides active electronic current limitation during short circuits, ensuring overcurrents are restricted to 1.3 to 1.8 times the rated current. Overloads are reliably disconnected at approximately 1.1 times the nominal current (12A). The EPD24-TB-101-12A supports the activation of capacitive loads up to 20,000 μF, with disconnection only occurring in cases of overload or short circuit. This selective deactivation prevents undefined error states and complete system shutdowns. Key features include a manual ON/OFF button for operational control and a multicolour LED for clear status indication (Green: ON, Orange: Overload/Short Circuit, Red: Disconnected/Undervoltage). An integrated potential-free auxiliary contact provides remote signaling capabilities. The device has a fixed current rating of 12A and a compact width of only 12.5 mm, facilitating DIN rail mounting. Connection is made via LINE+, 0 V, and signal bars. The EPD24-TB-101-12A holds UL and CSA approvals (UL 2367, UL 1604, UL 508, CSA C22.2 No. 213, CSA C22.2 No. 142, CSA C22.2 No. 14), enabling international use. SKU: EPD24-TB-101-12A.
