Overview

The ABB AB764S is a corrosion-resistant NEMA 4/4X/12 enclosure made from 12-gauge Type 304 stainless steel, designed for harsh industrial environments. It features continuously welded and ground smooth seams, a body flange trough collar, and a seamless foam-in-place gasket, ensuring oil-tight and dust-tight performance. Certified to NEMA Type 3RX, 4, 4X, 12, and IEC 60529 IP66 standards, it is cUL Listed (File No. E61997). Larger models include body stiffeners for added structural integrity, and heavy-duty lifting eyes for safe handling. This enclosure is engineered for disconnect switches and circuit breakers, suitable for machine tool applications such as motor starters, drives, contactors, and PLCs. Its durable construction and protective ratings make it ideal for industries including food and beverage, packaging, water treatment, petroleum, chemical processing, automotive manufacturing, pulp and paper, and textiles. The interior includes removable centerposts for simplified panel installation and removable 10-gauge steel panels mounted on collar studs. Heavy-gauge continuous hinges ensure door stability. Doors are secured with a heavy-duty 3-point latching mechanism, featuring a Type 316L stainless steel POWERGLIDE padlocking handle. The master door has a Type 316 stainless steel handle with a defeater, while slave doors use a non-defeater handle. A mechanical interlock system ensures the master door closes first for safety. Bonding provisions on doors and grounding studs on the body are included, along with an accessory mounting channel in the top fin. The right flange has a dedicated cutout for disconnect operator mounting. The enclosure ships unpainted in stainless steel. Optional 19-in. rack-mounting accessories are available.
