Overview

The ABB Electrification NEMA 4/4X/12 Enclosure (SKU: AB434) is a heavy-duty industrial enclosure designed for harsh environments requiring protection against dust, dirt, oil, and water ingress. Constructed from galvanealed steel with continuously welded seams and formed lips on the door and enclosure, it meets NEMA Types 3R, 4, 4X, 12, and 13, as well as IEC 60529 IP66 standards. This ensures superior defense against contaminants and flowing liquids, making it ideal for machine tool applications, motor starters, drives, contactors, PLCs, and rack-mounted components in demanding industries such as automotive, pulp and paper, wood products, and textiles. The enclosure is available in multiple configurations, including one-door single-access, one-door dual-access, two-door single-access, and two-door dual-access styles. Doors are easily removable and interchangeable, secured with 2 or 3-point handles for reliable closure. Standard padlockable features with single or dual-point latches (depending on size) provide enhanced security. The galvanealed steel coating ensures enhanced corrosion resistance, while bonding and grounding studs on the door and enclosure maintain electrical safety. Additional features include collar studs for mounting inner panels (sold separately), hardware kits with panel mounting nuts and sealing washers for wall mounting, and optional 19-inch rack-mounting accessories for sensitive components. The enclosure is cUL Listed per CSA C22.2 No 94 (File No. E61997) and meets NEBS-Telcordia GR-63-CORE Zone 4 seismic requirements when equipped with seismic accessories. OSHPD Pre-Approval OPM-0247-13 is also noted, ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards.
