How to Install the Eden OSSD Safety Sensor
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the installation and initial setup of the Eden OSSD safety sensor, ensuring proper alignment and configuration for optimal safety performance.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Torque wrench, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
M4 screws, Distance plates (DA 1B), Mounting spacers (DA 2B), Terminal connectors
- Mount the sensor
Secure each sensor (Adam and Eva) using two M4 screws and the DA 2B mounting spacers to protect the sensor from damage. Ensure the sensors are aligned in parallel to each other.
- Connect the wiring
Connect the M12 connectors according to the wiring diagram: for Adam OSSD-Info M12-8, connect pins as follows - 1) White: OSSD signal 1 Out, 2) Brown: +24 VDC, 3) Green: OSSD signal 1 In, 4) Yellow: OSSD signal 2 In, 5) Grey: Information, 6) Pink: OSSD signal 2 Out, 7) Blue: 0 VDC, 8) Red: Information.
- Power on and teach the code
Bring the Eva within the detection range of Adam and connect Adam to the power supply. The LED on Adam will turn green when the programming procedure is complete, indicating that the code has been successfully taught.
- Test the safety functions
Verify the safety functions by moving Eva away from Adam to ensure the LED lights red, indicating the safety circuit is open. Then, return Eva to the detection range and confirm the LED lights green, indicating the safety circuit is closed.
