How to Replace Gas Springs in the SYSPEND™ Arm
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for safely replacing gas springs in the SYSPEND™ arm assembly.

Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Drift punch, Safety goggles
Supplies needed:
Replacement gas springs, Plastic bushings
- Raise and Support the Arm
Raise the arm to the up-most position and support it from below. Ensure no one is under the arm while servicing.
- Remove Axle A
Unscrew set screws 'A' and 'B' approximately five turns without removing them. With the arm unweighted, gently tap to remove axle 'A' and tilt the arm end away from the arm. Do not lose the plastic bushings.
- Remove Axle B and Cable
Remove axle 'B' with a gentle tap. Raise the arm cover to about 45° and secure it. Then, pull the release cable out of the black clevis and remove it through the slot.
- Replace Gas Springs
Unscrew set screw 'C' about four turns without removing it. Remove axle 'C' with a gentle tap and take out the old spring assembly. Install the new spring assembly.
- Reassemble the Arm
Reassemble the arm in reverse order, ensuring that the grooves on the axles accommodate the set screws.
