How to Install the HazLoc Vortex A/C Model VHL15160

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the HazLoc Vortex A/C Model VHL15160, ensuring proper mounting, wiring, and initial setup.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wrench, Drill

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Vinyl tubing, Check Valve assembly, Cold Air Muffler, Compressed air filter

  1. Select installation location

Choose a flat horizontal or vertical surface on the enclosure for mounting the HazLoc Vortex A/C, ensuring sufficient clearance for the mechanical thermostat and cold air outlet.

  2. Cut installation hole

Drill a 1-15/16" (49 mm) diameter hole in the selected location of the enclosure. Deburr any sharp edges around the hole.

  3. Mount the unit

Insert the threaded portion of the HazLoc Vortex A/C into the hole and secure it with the 1-1/2" electrical locknut from inside the enclosure, tightening it to compress the sealing gasket.

  4. Attach the Check Valve

Connect the Check Valve assembly to the cold air outlet of the HazLoc Vortex A/C, ensuring the airflow direction arrow points away from the unit.

  5. Install the Cold Air Muffler

Mount the Cold Air Muffler inside the enclosure near the HazLoc Vortex A/C using the supplied mounting clamp, ensuring it is securely attached.

  6. Connect vinyl tubing

Cut a length of the supplied 5/8" (16 mm) vinyl tubing to connect the Check Valve outlet to the Cold Air Muffler, ensuring there are no sharp bends or kinks.

  7. Connect the compressed air filter

Attach the compressed air filter to the compressed air inlet on the side of the HazLoc Vortex A/C using a length of 3/8" pipe, ensuring the filter is positioned in a location where the temperature does not exceed 125°F (52°C).

  8. Connect compressed air supply

Connect the compressed air supply to the inlet of the air filter, ensuring that the air supply meets the required specifications.

  9. Verify installation

Check all connections and ensure that the HazLoc Vortex A/C is securely mounted and that the airflow direction is correct before applying power to the system.
