How to Use the QTPUS10BLK Universal Splice Bar
This guide details the proper use and installation of the QTPUS10BLK Universal Splice Bar for reinforcing cable tray connections and facilitating custom configurations like width reductions and Y-junctions.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
QTPBC Side Action Bolt Cutter, Wrench or Socket Set
Supplies needed:
QTPUS10BLK 10 in. Universal Splice Bar, QTPBNWK or QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kit, QTPSSW3 or QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washer, QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray sections
- Prepare the Universal Splice Bar for Application
If creating custom configurations such as tees, elbows, or Y-junctions, cut the QTPUS10BLK Universal Splice Bar to the required length using the QTPBC Side Action Bolt Cutter. For Y-junctions, cut universal connectors to 3 inches. Bend the splice bar as necessary to match the desired angle or contour of the cable tray connection.
- Position the Splice Bar for Connection
Align the prepared QTPUS10BLK Universal Splice Bar along the side of the QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray sections that require connection or additional support. Ensure the bar spans the joint evenly to provide maximum stability.
- Secure the Splice Bar to the Cable Tray
Fasten the QTPUS10BLK Universal Splice Bar to the cable tray sides using QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers. Insert the bolt through the splice bar and tray, securing it with the washer and nut from the splice kit. Ensure all fasteners are tightened securely to provide robust support and stability.
