How to Connect QUICK TRAY PRO Cable Tray Sections Using QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers
This guide outlines the procedure for securely joining QUICK TRAY PRO cable tray sections, including bends and tees, by utilizing QTPSSW3BLK splice washers and compatible splice kits.
Estimated time: 20m
Tools needed:
Hoffman Side Action Bolt Cutter, Wrench
Supplies needed:
QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers, QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits, QUICK TRAY PRO Cable Tray sections
- Prepare Tray Sections
If forming a bend, tee, or custom length, cut the QUICK TRAY PRO cable tray sections to the required dimensions and angles using the Hoffman side action bolt cutter. Ensure cuts are clean and minimize sharp edges that could snag wires.
- Align Tray Sections
Position the cable tray sections to be connected, ensuring they are properly aligned for the desired configuration (e.g., straight run, 90-degree bend, tee connection). Refer to specific assembly diagrams in the manual for precise alignment.
- Insert Splice Kit Hardware
Place the bolt from the QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kit through the designated holes in the cable tray sections, ensuring proper engagement with all layers of the tray or splice bar.
- Secure with Splice Washer and Nut
On the opposite side of the bolt, place the QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washer over the bolt, ensuring it covers the connection point as indicated in the specific assembly diagram. Then, thread and tighten the nut from the splice kit onto the bolt using a wrench until the connection is secure and stable. Repeat this process for all required fastening points.
