Overview

Enhance your cable management infrastructure with the nVent Quick Tray Pro Divider Strip (SKU: QTPDS2BLK). Engineered by nVent, a trusted leader in electrical solutions, this robust divider strip is specifically designed to integrate seamlessly with the Quick Tray Pro cable tray system, providing superior organization and separation for your critical wiring. The primary function of the QTPDS2BLK is to create distinct compartments within a single Quick Tray Pro channel. This is essential for preventing signal interference between different types of cables, such as power, data, and communication lines. By segregating these cables, you significantly improve the reliability and performance of your electrical and data networks, minimizing the risk of costly downtime and data corruption. The 2-inch height of this particular divider strip offers a versatile solution for a wide range of cable densities and tray configurations. Constructed from durable black steel, the QTPDS2BLK is built to withstand demanding industrial environments. Its sturdy material ensures longevity and resistance to corrosion, making it suitable for applications in manufacturing plants, data centers, telecommunications facilities, and commercial buildings. The black finish not only provides a professional aesthetic but also helps to reduce glare in sensitive environments. Installation of the nVent Quick Tray Pro Divider Strip is straightforward, designed for efficiency on the job site. To ensure a secure and permanent attachment, it is imperative to use the recommended nVent accessories. Specifically, the QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washer and the QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kit are required for each divider strip to firmly anchor it to the Quick Tray Pro. This methodical approach guarantees the integrity of your cable segregation system. Key benefits of implementing the nVent Quick Tray Pro Divider Strip include: * **Enhanced Cable Separation:** Prevents electromagnetic interference (EMI) and crosstalk between different cable types. * **Improved System Reliability:** Reduces the risk of signal degradation and network failures. * **Optimized Space Utilization:** Maximizes the use of existing cable tray by enabling organized multi-compartment configurations. * **Durable Construction:** Made from high-quality black steel for long-term performance in harsh conditions. * **Professional Aesthetics:** The black finish contributes to a clean and organized installation. This 5-foot (1.5-m) long divider strip is part of a comprehensive system that allows for customization to meet specific project requirements. nVent's commitment to innovation and quality ensures that the Quick Tray Pro system, including its accessories like the QTPDS2BLK, provides reliable and efficient cable management solutions for modern infrastructure challenges. Whether you are designing a new installation or upgrading an existing one, the nVent Quick Tray Pro Divider Strip offers a practical and effective method for achieving superior cable organization and performance.

How to Install and Configure QTPDS2BLK Cable Tray

This guide provides instructions for cutting, bending, and connecting sections of the QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray system, including the QTPDS2BLK model, to create custom cable management installations.

Estimated time: 1h 30m

Tools needed:

QTPBC Side Action Bolt Cutter, Wrench

Supplies needed:

QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray (e.g., QTPDS2BLK), QTPBNWK Splice Kit, QTPSSW3 Splice Washer, QTPUS10 Universal Splice Bar, QTP90TKIT T-Connection or 90o Splice Bar, Cable tray supports

  1. Cut Cable Tray Sections

Always use the Hoffman side action bolt cutter to cut the QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray. Decide which wires must be cut based on the desired configuration, reviewing the cutting pattern for specific bends. Start by cutting the top side wire, positioning the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and cutting at an angle away from the new end. Repeat this process for all remaining side wires. Turn the tray over and cut the bottom wires from the underside, always resting the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and cutting at an angle away from the new end. Make one clean cut to eliminate grinding or touch-up and minimize sharp edges.

  2. Form a 90-Degree Bend

At the desired bend location, cut the wires shown in red for your specific tray width. Cut all side wires at the bend location. Turn the tray on the uncut side and smoothly bend the tray up until the inside edges closest to the uncut side meet. Secure the bend by fastening at the indicated locations with QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers, ensuring they are appropriate for the tray width.

  3. Connect Cable Tray Sections

To connect straight sections or form complex configurations like elbows or tees, align the wires of the two tray sections at the desired angle. Fasten the tray using QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers. For adjustable angles, use one splice kit and one splice washer, centered, ensuring each splice washer covers two tray bottom wires. For additional support, use QTPUS10/QTPUS10BLK Universal Splice Bars with fasteners, cutting them to fit if necessary.

  4. Support the Cable Tray Installation

Install straight section supports at typical 6-foot (1.5m) centers. Ensure supports are placed within 24 inches (610mm) of any splice on straight sections. The span between supports must not exceed the length of the tray. Provide additional supports around bends and wherever the cable tray level changes to maintain stability and ensure proper load distribution.
