How to Install the VL-Motion Arm
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and adjusting the VL-Motion Arm, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, 1/8 inch Allen wrench, Spanner Wrench
Supplies needed:
Bronze Bushing, Flange Axle, Mounting screws
- Install the mounting end
Remove the access cap and pass the Flange Axle through the plastic Bushing and the Arm. Install the bronze Bushing between the Arm and the Mount, then screw the Flange Axle into the Mount.
- Adjust the swivel friction
Remove the locking set screws using a 1/8 inch Allen wrench. Loosen the inner set screw approximately 3 turns. Adjust the Flange Axle using the Spanner Wrench until the desired swivel friction is achieved. Re-tighten the inner set screws to 30 in-lbs.
- Adjust the counterbalance
Lower the arm and insert a #2 Phillips screwdriver into the valve actuator hole. Gently move the screwdriver to release gas from the spring, reducing the counterbalance force. Test the adjustment by operating the arm and repeat as necessary.
