Overview

The nVent CSF3024 Swing-Out Rack Frame is a heavy-duty 19-inch rack mounting solution designed for 30.00 x 24.00 inch (762 x 610 mm) enclosures. Engineered for industrial applications, this welded steel frame provides 120-degree swing-out access for easy maintenance of rack-mounted equipment. The ANSI/EIA RS-310-D compliant design supports a maximum load of 300 lbs, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments. The CSF3024 features a RAL 7035 textured gray finish and mounts to the front flange of the enclosure, with a 1.32 in (33 mm) distance for solid doors and 1.07 in (27 mm) for window doors. Installation flexibility is enhanced by its compatibility with right, left, or both bays of 1200-mm wide frames using center uprights. The frame includes hinges, two quarter-turn latches, and mounting hardware, with clip nut packages (XNM5/XSM5 metric or AN1032/AS1032 English) sold separately. For deeper mounting, grid system straps can be used, though this may affect the swing-out angle.

How to Install the Swing-Out Rack Frame

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Swing-Out Rack Frame in an enclosure.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Torque wrench

Supplies needed:

Flat-head screws with sealing washers, Hex-head screws, Lockwashers, Square nuts, Pan-head screws, Bumper brackets

  1. Open the enclosure

Open the enclosure door to access the internal components.

  2. Remove the door

Pull the hinge pins to the outermost retained position to detach the door from the enclosure.

  3. Attach body hinges

Using flat-head screws with sealing washers, attach the body hinges and swing-out frame hinges to the enclosure. Torque the screws to 22 in-lbs (2.5 Nm).

  4. Assemble latches

Assemble the latches to the latch brackets with latch stops positioned at 12 O’Clock and 3 O’Clock.

  5. Attach latch brackets

Secure the latch brackets to the swing-out frame assembly using two hex-head screws, lockwashers, and square nuts. Torque to 50 in-lbs (5.6 Nm).

  6. Drill center-punch marks

Drill the center-punch marks on the latch side of the enclosure to a diameter of .203 inch (5mm), drilling only the two outer marks if there are three sets.

  7. Insert bumpers

Insert a bumper into each bumper bracket as shown in the installation diagram.

  8. Attach bumper brackets

Orient the bumper brackets with bumpers facing outside the enclosure and attach using two pan-head screws and two sealing washers each. Torque to 22 in-lbs (2.5 Nm).

  9. Assemble arms

Attach the arms to the swing-out frame assembly using two hex-head screws, lockwashers, and square nuts. Torque to 50 in-lbs (5.6 Nm).

  10. Insert detent hinge pin

Align the arms of the swing-out frame assembly with the swing-out frame hinges and insert one detent hinge pin, ensuring the rings are oriented toward the center of the enclosure.

  11. Secure the swing-out frame

Secure the swing-out frame in position by rotating the latches to engage the bumper brackets.

  12. Reassemble the enclosure door

Reattach the enclosure door to complete the installation.
