How to Install the VS-ACK-BATTERY Access Control Kit
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the VS-ACK-BATTERY Access Control Kit, ensuring safe access to electrical enclosures.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Two-sided tape
- Prepare the installation site
Locate the position for the knockout hole by measuring 5-1/8 inches from the surface where the cabinet door seats to the desired mounting location. Use a Double 'D' knockout punch to create the hole.
- Install the Cam Latch
Insert the Cam Latch into the knockout hole, ensuring that the Sealing Washer is properly seated between the panel wall and the Cam Latch. Install the Enclosure Bracket onto the Cam Latch and hand tighten the Mounting Nut to ensure it is level.
- Connect the Wire Harness
Connect the wires of the Wire Harness to the VeriSafe Absence of Voltage Tester (AVT) and the VS-ACK-BATTERY kit. Connect the Ground (brown) wire to post 1 and the Power (red) wire to post 2.
- Install the Rotary Latch
Install the Rotary Latch to the Latch Bracket using the supplied ¼”-20 Bolts and secure it to the Enclosure Bracket with the provided #10-32 Bolts. Ensure the Rotary Latch is positioned correctly to engage the Override Latch.
- Mount the Striker
Place the supplied Two-Sided tape onto the back side of the Striker and install it onto the Rotary Latch. Close the cabinet door and engage the mechanical override to position the Striker correctly on the inside of the cabinet door.
- Verify installation
Close the cabinet door and ensure that the Access Control Kit is functioning properly. Adjust the Striker or Latch Bracket if necessary to eliminate any interference.
- Perform a commissioning check
Energize the system and verify that the red Voltage Presence Indicators are illuminated. De-energize the system and press the Test Button on the AVT Indicator Module to ensure the absence of voltage test is functioning correctly.
