R16-8V-S
Tin-plated Copper Ring Terminal with Vinyl Insulation and has a basic tongue type ring. Used for wire termination in applications with #8 Stud and 16-14 AWGHow to Install and Crimp NSI PT, PTS, and PTO Pin Terminals
Install NSI PT/PTS/PTO pin terminals by selecting the correct connector, preparing the conductor, and crimping it with the specified die and number of crimps. Follow the strip-length and tool requirements for the exact catalog number to ensure a safe, code-compliant connection.
Tools needed:
Wire stripper, Wire brush, Approved crimping tool with the correct die set for the selected terminal, Qualified electrician's electrical test equipment as needed
Supplies needed:
NSI PT, PTS, or PTO pin terminal or splice connector, Conductor/cable of the correct size, Appropriate connector barrel for the cable size
- Select the correct terminal and die
Choose the NSI PT, PTS, or PTO connector that matches the cable size you are installing. Verify the required strip length, die number, and number of crimps from the catalog table before starting. Use only the listed tools and dies for the selected part number.
- Prepare the conductor
Carefully strip the insulation to the specified length without nicking the conductor strands. Wire brush the stripped portion to remove oxide films, and make sure the conductor is clean before insertion. Safety warning: de-energize the circuit and have a qualified electrician perform the work in accordance with national and local electrical codes.
- Insert the conductor fully
Insert the stripped conductor completely into the connector barrel so it fills the barrel fully. Verify that the conductor is seated all the way in and that no strands are left outside the connector.
- Crimp the connector
Install the crimp(s) using the appropriate die and tool listed for the connector series. Apply the exact number of crimps specified for the part number, then inspect the finished connection to confirm it is secure and properly formed.
