Overview

The NSI Industries Mighty-Merge Transition Fitting (SKU 4157-DC) is engineered for efficient and reliable connections between Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) and Armored Cable/Flexible Metal Conduit (AC/MC). This one-piece fitting simplifies installations, eliminating the need for separate junction boxes and reducing labor time by up to two-thirds. Its formed steel body features a carefully rounded bushing to protect conductors. The unique TITE-BITE® connector design utilizes a single screw to firmly grip flexible metal cable, ensuring a secure connection without the need for two screws. This design allows the armor gripping saddle to remain open during cable insertion, facilitating easier installation. The Mighty-Merge fitting is U.L. Listed as a grounding means under NEC 350-5, with a cable opening range from a minimum of .250 inches to a maximum of .656 inches. It is compatible with 3/8" flexible metal conduit and 1/2" EMT. This fitting offers a cost-effective solution, reducing material costs by approximately one-third compared to traditional box installations. Ideal for electricians and contractors seeking to optimize installation time and reduce project expenses while maintaining code compliance and a secure electrical connection. CSA File No. 2884 and U.L. File No. E-23018 certified.

Specifications

Application
Set Screw type transitional fitting ideal for commercial and institutional facilities. The 4157-DC is used to securely join EMT to two armored or metal clad cables and 3/8” flexible metal conduit. New and Improved: Now features a tapered body and a rivet to separate cables during installation. A labor savings, compared to the traditional junction box or fitting assembly installation. When using AC/MC/FMC cable simply remove the armor and expose the conductors to the desired length needed to reach the device box or enclosure. The inspection holes will provide a visual end stop for the cable or flex conduit. The use of anti short bushings is recommended. Tighten the steel strap screws between the armor convolutions, and for the 3/4" EMT conduit. Patented.
