Overview

The Mersen Amp-Trap 2000® AJT450EIB fuse, SKU AJT450EIB, is engineered for robust industrial circuit protection, offering IEC Type 2 No Damage protection for main, feeder, and branch circuits across all load types. This Class J fuse features advanced material technology and a compact footprint, requiring only half the mounting space of comparable 600VAC Class RK fuses, facilitating smaller and more economical fuse block installations. Its time-delay characteristics are specifically designed to manage typical motor starting and transformer inrush currents, while simultaneously providing superior current-limiting capabilities. The integrated SmartSpot® visual open fuse indicator offers immediate, clear feedback on fuse status, enhancing operational safety and reducing downtime. With a high interrupting rating of 300kA I.R. AC (self-certified, UL witnessed) and 100kA I.R. DC, the AJT450EIB ensures reliable performance in demanding applications. Key features include a high-visibility orange label for instant recognition, metal-embossed date and catalog number for traceability, and a fiberglass body for dimensional stability in harsh industrial environments. The high-grade silica filler ensures fast arc quenching. This fuse is recommended for Arc Flash energy reduction and offers easy 2-to-1 selectivity to prevent nuisance shutdowns. Its unique Class J dimensions prevent incorrect fuse replacements. The AJT450EIB is UL listed to standard 248-8 (File E2137) and CSA certified to standard C22.2 No. 248.8, and also meets IEC 269-2-1 standards. Applications include motor circuits, mains, feeders, branch circuits, lighting, heating, general loads, transformers, control panels, circuit breaker back-up, bus duct, and load centers. The AJT450EIB is rated for 600VAC or less and 500VDC or less, with an amperage rating of 450A.
  • IEC Type 2 No Damage protection for main, feeder, and branch circuits.
  • SmartSpot® visual open fuse indicator for clear status feedback.
  • Time-delay characteristics for motor and transformer inrush currents.
  • Compact Class J dimensions require half the mounting space of Class RK fuses.
  • 300kA interrupting rating (AC) for superior circuit protection.
