Littelfuse TSB434 - The TSB Series is a totally solid-state, delay-on-break timing module. The TSB series is available with a fixed, external, or onboard adjustable time delay. Time delays from 0.05 to 600 seconds, in 4 standard ranges, cover over 90 % of all OEM and commercial appliance timing applications. The repeat accuracy is ±2 %. Operating voltages of 24, 120, or 230 V ac are available. The TSB’s 1 A steady state, 10 A rated, solid-state output is perfect for direct control of solenoids, contactors, relays, lamps, buzzers, and small heaters. The TSB series can be surface mounted with a single screw, or snapped on a 35 mm DIN rail using the P1023-20 adapter. Operation (Delay-on-Break): Input voltage must be applied before and during timing. Upon closure of the initiate switch, the output energizes. The time delay begins when the initiate switch opens. The output remains energized during timing. At the end of the time delay, the output de-energizes. The output will energize if the initiate switch is closed when input voltage is applied. Reset: Reclosing the initiate switch during timing resets the time delay. Loss of input voltage resets the output and the time delay.

Overview

The Littelfuse TSB434 is a totally solid-state, delay-on-break timing module designed for precise control in industrial and commercial applications. This module offers a wide time delay range from 0.05 to 600 seconds, available in four standard ranges, covering over 90% of OEM and commercial appliance timing requirements. Its repeat accuracy is a reliable ±2%, ensuring consistent performance. The TSB434 operates on selectable voltages of 24, 120, or 230 VAC, providing flexibility for various power systems. The module features a robust solid-state output capable of handling 1A steady-state current and a 10A inrush current, making it ideal for direct control of solenoids, contactors, relays, lamps, buzzers, and small heaters. Its encapsulated design protects against shock, vibration, and humidity, offering enhanced durability. Installation is versatile, allowing for surface mounting with a single screw or snap-on mounting to a 35 mm DIN rail using the P1023-20 adapter. The delay-on-break operation ensures that the output energizes upon closure of the initiate switch and begins timing when the switch opens, de-energizing at the end of the delay. Resetting is automatic upon reclosing the initiate switch during timing or upon loss of input voltage. With its analog circuitry and solid-state construction, the TSB434 eliminates moving parts, preventing arcing and wear for extended operational life, rated for 100 million operations in typical conditions. Specifications include a time delay tolerance of ±5% factory calibration, ±10% time delay vs. temperature & voltage, and a reset time of ≤ 150ms. The module consumes ≤ 2VA of power and features a voltage drop of approximately 2.5V at 1A. Operating temperature range is -40° to 75°C, with storage at -40° to 85°C, and 95% relative humidity non-condensing. Dimensions are 50.8 mm (H) x 50.8 mm (W) x 30.7 mm (D).
