Littelfuse T4800.0060 - Load Sharer. 120/127V 5A. The T4800 is designed to control a generator operating in parallel with the grid, or a generator operating in parallel with other generators (which are also controlled by T4800 units). The T4800 will continuously measure and compare the active current on the generator to an external DC reference signal connected to the “parallel lines” input. The T4800 will increase or decrease the speed of the generator (through the governor) if it finds the active current level to be either too low or two high. Two built-in relays provide the increase and decrease pulses for a conventional governor. The strength (width) of the pulses is proportional to the frequency/phase deviation. The E7800 Motorised Potentiometer can be used to adapt the contact pulses to a signal suitable for the speed trim input of an electronic speed controller.

Overview

The Littelfuse T4800.0060 Load Sharer is engineered for sophisticated generator control in critical power applications. This robust unit is specifically designed to manage generators operating in parallel configurations, whether in conjunction with the utility grid or with other synchronized generators. Its primary function is to ensure seamless load distribution and stable power output by continuously monitoring and adjusting the active current produced by the generator. At its core, the T4800.0060 operates by comparing the generator's active current to an external DC reference signal. This comparison is performed in real-time, allowing the load sharer to make precise adjustments to the generator's speed. If the active current deviates from the desired level – either too high or too low – the T4800 will send appropriate control signals to the generator's governor. This dynamic adjustment mechanism is crucial for preventing overload, underload, and maintaining system frequency and voltage stability. Key features of the Littelfuse T4800.0060 include: * **Precise Load Sharing:** Actively manages generator output to match load demands in parallel systems. * **Governor Control:** Employs two built-in relays to provide 'increase' and 'decrease' pulses for conventional mechanical governors. * **Proportional Pulse Width:** The strength or duration of the control pulses is dynamically adjusted based on the frequency and phase deviation, offering finer control. * **Adaptability:** Can be integrated with electronic speed controllers via an optional E7800 Motorized Potentiometer, allowing adaptation of contact pulses to a suitable signal for speed trim inputs. * **Voltage and Current Ratings:** Operates reliably at 120/127 VAC with a 5A current rating, suitable for a wide range of generator sizes. This load sharer is an indispensable component for facilities requiring high reliability and uninterrupted power, such as data centers, hospitals, manufacturing plants, and telecommunication sites. By ensuring that generators share the load equitably, the T4800.0060 helps to optimize generator performance, reduce wear and tear, and prevent costly downtime. Its compatibility with both traditional and modern electronic speed control systems makes it a versatile solution for upgrading existing power infrastructure or implementing new parallel generator setups. Littelfuse's reputation for quality and innovation in circuit protection and power control ensures that the T4800.0060 is a dependable choice for demanding industrial environments.
