How to Install the HPS Imperator® Control Transformer

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and wiring the HPS Imperator® Control Transformer, including optional accessory kits.

Mounting screws, Fuse clips, Voltage links, Finger guard

  1. Mount the transformer

    Secure the transformer to the mounting surface using appropriately sized mounting screws. Ensure the transformer is level and stable.

  2. Install fuse clips

    Remove the appropriate captive washer screw(s) from the terminal block, then install the fuse clip(s) and secure them with new terminal screw(s).

  3. Connect voltage links

    For transformers from 50VA to 100VA, install the voltage links between any two primary or secondary terminal bays as per the provided wiring instructions.

  4. Verify connections

    Use a multimeter to check all connections for continuity and ensure that all terminal screws are torqued between 12 to 14 inch-lbs.

  5. Install finger guard (if applicable)

    Attach the finger guard to the transformer to ensure safety, following the instructions provided in the accessory kit.
