How to Install the Fluorescent Luminaire Disconnect (LD2/LD3 Series)

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for safely installing the LD2 and LD3 series fluorescent luminaire disconnects, including wiring connections and final verification.

  1. Disconnect Power

    Before beginning any installation, disconnect power to the luminaire circuit to prevent risk of electrical shock. This is a critical safety step.

  2. Prepare Luminaire Access

    Remove all lamps and any necessary access covers on the luminaire to gain full access to the ballast and incoming supply wires.

  3. Connect Male Disconnect to Ballast

    Using appropriate rated wiring connectors, attach the line (black) and neutral (white) leads of the male side of the disconnect (marked 'load') to the corresponding ballast leads. For 3-pole disconnects, connect the third colored wire lead to its appropriate ballast lead.

  4. Connect Female Disconnect to Supply
