Supplies needed:
#8 x 3/4 screws, Duct tape, Terminal connectors, Grounding lug
- Prepare the installation site
Ensure the installation area is clean and level. Mark the desired height for the floor box and ensure a minimum concrete pour of 3.5 inches is available.
- Mount the floor box
Secure the floor box to the concrete using duct tape to hold the plastic cap in place before pouring concrete. Ensure the box is level and properly aligned.
- Cut the box to height
After the concrete has cured, remove the plastic cap and cut the box to the desired height using a handsaw. Mark a line 1/8 inch below the final height for nonmetallic covers or 3/16 inch for brass covers.
- Install the yoke
Align the yoke in the floor box slots and secure it using the provided #8 x 3/4 inch pan head screws. Ensure it is positioned at the desired level.
- Wire the electrical device
Attach conductors to the electrical device (e.g., duplex or GFCI receptacle) and secure it in the yoke using the provided screws. Ensure proper grounding using the grounding lug.
- Install the cover
Attach the cover to the floor box using #8 x 1 1/8 inch pan head screws. Ensure the cover is flush with the finished floor surface.
