Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Joint compound, Shrink tubing
- Prepare the cable
Strip the insulation from the cable to the length specified in the installation table. Avoid nicking the cable strands.
- Insert the cable into the connector
Remove the plastic protective cap from the wire barrel. Smear a thin layer of joint compound onto the cable, then insert the cable into the connector until it stops, ensuring the insertion length matches the stripped cable length.
- Crimp the connector
Place the connector in the appropriate crimping die as per the installation table. Compress the connector, starting near the tongue, and ensure the required number of compressions is achieved.
- Remove sharp edges
After crimping, carefully remove any sharp edges, flash, or burrs that may have resulted from the crimping process.
- Install the lug
Bolt the lug to the mounting pad using the specified mounting screws. Use a Belleville compression washer to maintain tension and compensate for thermal expansion.
- Insulate the connection
Use shrink tubing or another approved insulation method to cover the connection, ensuring it is secure and protected from environmental factors.
